Hohhot, capital city of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in North China, is expected to take on a new look this year with the city government planning to pour 46 billion yuan (about US$ 5.76 billion) to upgrade city construction this year and the first half of next year. The investment will be used to reconstruct old city areas, build more parks, grow more trees and meadows, rebuild main streets and establish new infrastructure around the city, which is home to 2.30 million residents, according to state media.
